The biggest land empire the world has ever seen, the Mongol Empire, even though very often seen as tyrant and barbarian, in fact had some nice effects on the world history. It was an empire that enabled cultural exchange between Europe and Asia. The exchange of technological discoveries was also very important for both of the continents. Also it was kind of globalizing force that managed to have lots of different ethnicity's and religions and connect to very distant regions, and develop the trade between the two continents.
