A thyroid storm is a relatively rare, life-threatening condition caused by exaggerated hyperthyroidism. Thyroid storm happens when hyperthyroidism goes underrate or under-treated for a lengthly about of time. Although thyroid storm is not seen in a huge amount of cases it can still happen and needs to be checked for with hyperthyroid as a condition.
