First, mult. the 1st equation by -2; you'll get -4x - 2y = 10
Add this result to the 2nd eqn: 3x + 2y = 4
---------------------
Combining like terms: -x = 14, so x = -14.

Now substitute -14 for x in the equation 3x + 2y = 4.

We get -42 + 2y = 4, so 2y = 46 and y = 23. Answer: (-14, 23).
