MRP stands for Manufacturing Resource Planning.
When MRP II systems include feedback to revise a plan that is not feasible, they are known as closed loop MRP. The closed loop MRP includes products that have been returned by retail stores, or products that did not meet the manufacturer's quality control standards.
It is used for production planning and inventory control.
