Explain why compass needles do not point to Earth's geographic north pole.

Compass needles follow the Earth’s magnetic field and what would be considered the planet’s magnetic North Pole doesn’t match the the planet’s geological North Pole. As the Earth’s magnetic field changes, it’s magnetic North Pole shifts with it.
