Under what circumstances do people have to make a co-pay? Co-pays are usually found when people visit the Dr for routine or sick appointments. A co-pay is a fixed amount that someone who is insured pays for medical care at the time of visit for appointments or medicine. Their insurance company pays out the rest of the portion from the individual having medical coverage.
