Which line from Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass contains imagery? He died while on a visit to see his daughter at Hillsborough. I was eager to hear any one speak of slavery. The dictionary afforded me little or no help. Their backs had been made familiar with the bloody lash, so that they had become callous.
