D, Always remember PMATC: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and cytokenisis. This example only shows the basic "PMAT"

Answer: D 4,2,3,1

Image 4 represents prophase. It has the spindle fibres start emerge from the centrosome. The nuclear envelop breaks down and chromosomes become visible.

Image 2 represents the second stage of mitosis which is metaphase. In this stage the chromosome are lined up at metaphase as shown.

Image 3 represents the third stage which is anaphase. In this stage the centromere split into two. Spindle fibers begin to elongate the cell.

Image 1 represents the fourth stage telophase of mitosis. In this stage the chromosomes arrive at opposite pole and begin to decondense.
