1. A landscaper need to plant a row of 10 shrubs
2. There must be one shrub at the very beginning and one shrub at the very end.
3. the shrubs in between will be equally spaced along the length.

So, by making the first shrub at the very beginning represents the reference to the remaining shrubs

The remaining shrubs will be equal to 9

Therefore , there is 9 distances and each distance has a length = 4 ft

So, the equation the landscaper can use to find the distance “D” in feet to leave between shrubs is ⇒⇒⇒ 9d = 36


The correct answer is option b. 9d = 36
