Claire coaches a rec-league field hockey team. She has four pairs of practice socks in yellow, pink, orange, and peach, and she has two pairs of shoes, one black and one red. Answer: There are 8 possible outcomes for this situation.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of pairs of socks = 4

i.e. yellow(Y), pink(P), orange(O), peach(PE)

Number of pairs of shoes = 2

i.e. red(R) and black(B)

So, the possible outcomes for this situation would be

{RY, RP, RO, RPE, BY, BP, BO, BPE}

Hence, there are 8 possible outcomes for this situation.
