What is the average rate of change of the function over the interval x = 0 to x = 4? f(x)=2x−13x+5

On average it changes by -5 for each value of x that changes. You can get this by plugging in the two extremes and getting the ordered pairs (0, 5) and (4, -15).

Then simply divide the difference in y's by the number of x's.
