The presidency of Ronald Reagan restored the United States to economic prosperity and world leadership through the aversion of a recession which was achieved through limited government. Reagan also run expansionary program including increased military spending which restored faith in America.

He mended the economy from the excesses of government regulation and also increased federal spending on the military in a level unprecedented before. He was arguably the first conservative president after Eisenhower.
