Compare and contrast attitude in the union and the confederacy about enlisting African American soldiers

The North wanted the slaves to be free but they didn't want them to be equal like they were. After the war and the slaves were free the North still treated them horrible. The South wanted nothing to do with the slaves they hated. Them they wanted to still be slaves.
