This would be modernism.
As the name itself says, modernism is all about something modern, new, different. Authors and artists of this movement wanted to break away from the past, to do away with traditions which were prevalent in the eras that preceded, and wanted to create something unique, which differed from everything that existed before. The era started in late 19th century, and continued until mid-20th century.
