There is a multitude of listed grievances in the Declaration of Independence. An example of a grievance that the colonists had with the King is as follows - “He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.” In other words, the King has gotten rid of places of assembly which he disagreed with or has spoken out against the King.
