We, the target victims, are the ones who call them "terrorists." They do not see themselves as such. They are a completely unique subculture of fanatics who believe that what they are doing is correct, that their targets are the enemy, and that attacking them will bring some form of benefit.
This is why I think some groups choose to use terrorism.
