Moose, red squirrels, ernines, lynx, red-throated loons, and hawk owls are located in the tundra biome. A biome is a large region characterized by a specific type of climate and certain types of plant and animal communities. Tundra is a treeless plain found in the Arctic, in the Antarctic, or on the tops of mountains that is characterized by very low winter temperatures and short cool summers.

Moose, red squirrels, ernines, lynx, red-throated loons, and hawk owls are located in the boreal forest (taiga). Boreal forest is a land habitat and a northern part of coniferous forests which stretches right round the planet from western Alaska to eastern Siberia. In summer, the climate is much milder and in the winter, the temperature can drop to as low as -50 degrees Celsius.
