William Howe was a British army officer who won the battle of Bunker Hill but his tactics were criticized and it has a potent effect on his confidence. He ordered his troops to march in the daylight as he thought American militia was disorganized and would retreat but the case was reversed. Around 1000 British soldiers perished or wounded which highest in the war. His overconfidence led to a victory that cannot be celebrated.
