the answer is 8 4 plus 2 equals 8 even if the circle has four dots you draw four more which equals 8 either one

You will need 4 segments to connect adjacent points, and another additional two segments to connect opposite points.

We can conclude that you will need 6 segments to connect each point to every other point.
