Multiply the numbers (2*2=4)

=(-7+√(7^2-4\cdot \:2\left(-5\right)))/(2\cdot \:2)

Apply the rule

√(7^2+2\cdot \:4\cdot \:5)

7^2 =49

=√(49+2\cdot \:4\cdot \:5)

Multiply

√(49+40)

Add

√(89)

=(-7-√(89))/(4)

Final solution:

x=(-7+√(89))/(4),\:x=(-7-√(89))/(4)
