The reaction involved in present question is:

NaHCO3(s) + HCl(aq) → NaCl(s) + CO2(g) + H2O(g)

From the above reaction, it can be seen that sodium bicarbonate on reacting with HCl gets converted into NaCl (s), CO2(g) and H2O(g).

CO2(g) and H2O(g) being gas will be lost from evaporating disk and watch glass, therefore there will be lost in mass.

Thus mass let in evaporating disk and watch glass will be only due to NaCl,
= 44.45 - 42.70 = 1.75 g

The correct answer is option B
