The Crusades were caused by the want from Christian Knights to reclaim the Holy Land against the Muslims. Because of the Crusades, the authority of the King had increased. The Crusades only had one successful Crusade, the first one. Because of that, they (Christian Knights) had failed to reclaim the Holy Land.
