Most plant must draw resources from two very different environments. Explain this statement?

On the basis of adaptation to different environemnt plants are classified into different groups which are listed below:

Hydrophytes:
These plant grown in equatic environment where plenty of water is availabe. Therefore, their root system is less develop and leaves are broad having sunken stomata.
Example:
Ceratophyllum, water lily.

Xerophytes:
These plants grown in desert having scarcity of water and plants have develop well root system and leaves are converted into spines in order to preserve water nd other nutrients.
Example:
Opuntia microdasys, Poinsettia

Halophytes:
These plants grown in saline condition where salts are present in excess amount.
Example:
Salicornia bigelovii, Spartina alterniflora
