AIDS attacks white blood cells, damaging the immune system and making the infected individual more susceptible to illness. White blood cells are the ones that fight off harmful bacteria, so without them you could even end up in the hospital or die from a common cold.

Answer:

AIDS attacks white blood cells

Step-by-step explanation:

HIV is a viral infection that later develops into AIDS if not properly managed, it is caused by a virus that attacks the white blood cells which protects the body against infection, once the white blood cells is damaged or attacked there would be room for opportunistic infection from other foreign materials that enters the body.
