A zero is when the y value of the equation is 0.

So we need to solve this equation.

4x²-8x-60=0

We can solve by factoring.

4(x²-2x-15)=0

x²-2x-15=0

(x+3)(x-5)=0

x=-3 and 5

answer: the smallest zero will be -3
