Why nitrogen important for animals and plants

Answer:

Nitrogen can be returned to the environment when an animal excretes or dies. Nitrogen is found in proteins and Amino acids which are in DNA and are the building blocks of life. Nitrogen is essentially the secret ingredient in the recipe of our existence. Without it, us humans and animals wouldn't be here.
