For the inequality y - 4 > -7, get y by itself by adding 4 to both sides. Now you have y > -3.
For the inequality y - 1 < 6, get y by itself by adding 1 to both sides. Now you have y < 7.
Graph the set y > -3 and y < 7. It should look like this:
