In traveling across flat land, you notice a mountain a cellular telephone tower is 150 feet tall is placed on top of a mountain that is 1200 feet above sea level. Angle of depression is 2.06°

Explanation:

Refer the figure given.

We need to find angle A.

We have AD = 1200 + 150 = 1350 feet

BC = 5 miles = 26400 feet

AB = AD - BD = 1350 - 400 = 950 feet

We have

tanA=(BC)/(AB)\\\\tanA=(26400)/(950)\\\\A=87.94^0

Angle of depression = 90 - A = 90 - 87.94 = 2.06°

Angle of depression is 2.06°
