Why do people stay away from people who are part of the lgbtq

Answer:

Because many think that being LGBTQ+ is "contagious"and that if their kids, or even them, are aroung people aroung LGBTQ+ they will also become LGBTQ+. They may also just really be against them due to religion or just plain hate.
