What caused China to stay isolated for so many years?

The large land was isolated from much of the rest of the world by dry deserts to the north and west, the Pacific Ocean to the east, and impassable mountains to the south. This enabled the Chinese to develop independently from other world civilizations.

the other answer that said d is wrong , it is a) the natural barriers.
china was surrounded by huge mountains/deserts/oceans, which made it nearly impossible to travel. many living in china even thought that china was the only civilization in the world
