(5(F-32))/(9)

We are to make x F the subject of the formula , that means F must stand alone. To do this , we will first of all multiply through by 9 , that is

9C = 5 (F - 32 )

9C = 5F - 160

Adding 160 to both sides , we have

9C + 160 = 5F , that is

5F = 9C + 160

Dividing through by 5 , we have
