There is social stratification that correlates with religious beliefs. Certain people belonging to a certain religion may call themselves as belonging to a higher category of people who are holier and consider themselves to have a higher social and religious stature.

Even the practitioners have different statures in the social gathering of within a particular religion. Some are considered more respectful than the others.
