  • Police power;
  • Power in international relations ;
  • Power within a society

The United States is a Presidential Federal Republic. At the federal level, executive power is exercised by the President, elected by an electoral college, legislative power belongs to the Congress, and the judiciary belongs to the courts. Each state also elects its own governor (chief executive) and a congress. There is still a possibility that, during the presidential election, voters in a state may or may not pass bills on various issues.
