Bryce is an author. His publisher pays him a fixed allowance of 5000 dollars per month plus 4.5 per cent royalty on sales. What would be his income for a month in which his book sales totalled 2000 dollars

`(4.5)/(100) * 2000`

`4.5 * 20 = 90`

so Bryce get 90 dollars extra for his sale and his monthly salary is 5000 dollars. Therefore he get 5090 dollars in the last of the month as salary.
