first point is at x = 0, the second point is at x = 4

4 - 0 = 4

next find the vertical distance between.

first is y = 2, second is y = 5

5 - 2 = 3

using these distances we can set up a right triangle with a base of 4 and height of 3 and a hypotenuse that is the distance between the two points.

using pythag. theorem:

4^2 + 3^ 2 = c^2

25 = c^2

c = 5
