The slope of the line passing through the given point (-3, -1), (2, 8) is
(9)/(5)

Solution:

Given that two points are (-3, -1) and (2, 8)

We have to find the slope of line passing through these two points

The slope "m" of the line passing through two points
(x_1, y_1) \text{and} (x_2, y_2) is given as:

m = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)

Here
x_1 = -3 ; y_1 = -1 ; x_2 = 2 ; y_2 = 8

Substituting the given values in formula,

m = (8 - (-1))/(2 - (-3))

On solving we get,

m = (8 + 1)/(2 + 3)\\\\m = (9)/(5)

Thus the slope of line is
m = (9)/(5)
