Why is the 13 amendment of great importance

The 13th amendment was of great importance because it freed the slaves, without it slavery, or segregation would probably still exist in America, and we would be far away from equal rights

The 13th amendment abolished slavery, giving freedom to blacks and attempting to end all segregation (however only making some strides towards utmost equality)
