∴
`(BA)/(CA)= (BD)/(DC)`

Substituting th above given values in it we get

∴
`(6)/(8)= (BD)/(5)`

∴
`BD = 5* (6)/(8) \\\\BD = (30)/(8) \\\\BD = 3.75\ units\\`

Therefore BD is 3.75 units
