so we have


(\mu_2)/(d_i) - (\mu_1)/(d_o) = (\mu_2 - \mu_1)/(R)

here we have


\mu_2 = 1


\mu_1 = 1.33


d_o = 17.9 cm


R = 45 cm

now we have


(1)/(d_i) - (1.33)/(17.9) = (1 - 1.33)/(45)


d_i = 14.9 cm
