Organelles can be described as structures present in a cell which perform different functions.

Different organelles interact with one another and perform functions.

For example, there are three organelles which are involved in the endomembrane system. The endomembrane system has the function to produce, package and move products out of a cell.

The three organelles of the endomembrane system are Endoplasmic Reticulum, Golgi- Complex and Vesicles.

The Endoplasmic Reticulum is continuous with the nuclear membrane. mRNA from the nucleus travels via the Endoplasmic Reticulum to the ribosomes where proteins are made. They then move to the Golgi complex where they are modified and packaged. The vesicles transport these proteins out of the cell.
