x = 2 , y = -7.

Explanation:

Two Equations are given in the question ,

y = -5x + 3 -(1)

y = 8x - 23 -(2)

We have to solve both of them ,

Subtracting equation 2 from equation 1 , we will get

-5x -8x + 3 + 23 = 0

-13x + 26 = 0.

So,

x = 2.

Putting x = 2 in Equation 1 ,

y = -10 + 3.

y = -7.

Thus Solution of both of the equations is x = 2 , y = -7.
