Answer: there two Minoean eras .....era I and era II. They are separated by the total or partial destruction of the culture/civilization. The II era finished as suddenly as the I era !!! There are several theory: 1) theory of vulnanic eruption near Crete that destroyed the culture partially and caused a lot of hardship and economic problems....this is the way how Minoean culture I ended (probably), 2) second period ended because of several factors....one of them can be a vulcanic eruption but the decisive force came from Micanaean Greece (there are foundings of Micanaean arms in Crete). So the end and final destruction were not caused by natural disaster but by invading force. Two factors probably collaborated !!
