1. subtract 2x from the equation 2x + y = 1

2. now you should have y= -2x + 1

3. then on the second equation subtract 4x from 4x + 2y = 2

4. now you should have 2y = -4x + 2

5. divide everything by 2

6. now you should have y = -2x + 1

7. since you got an exact answer on both of them then it is exactly one
