Therefore, as per given conditions, we can write, y = 3x .......... (1)

Again, each adult ticket cost $20 and each child's ticket costs $10 and there was a $15000 ticket sale.

So, 20x + 10y = 15000

2x + y = 1500 ......... (2)

Now, solving equations (1) and (2) we get,

2x + 3x = 1500

⇒ 5x = 1500

x = 300 and y = 3x = 900
