Let us assume the number of tree planted be x

Now the extra trees would be

= x - 24

And, the tree yield is 600 apples also the tree decrease by 12 per year

Now the equation is

y = x(600 - 12(x - 24))

y = -12x^2 + 888x

y = -24 + 888x

x = 37

Hence, the number of trees planted is 37
