Evaporation does not involve carbon so that option is ruled out along with all of the above. In photosynthesis, light energy is used to generate glucose, carbon-containing carbohydrate for itself while releasing water and oxygen, neither of which contain carbon. Respiration is thus the only plausible option as organisms release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere through this process
