It is actually an allergic reaction due to the large amount of chemical compounds that get into the blood as a reaction to said allergens, which causes the immune system to release said chemicals that get into the blood, which causes a shock due to pressure drop. Then the airways become narrowed, suffocation or shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea and possible vomiting.
