If she started with a nickel, a dime, a quarter, a half-dollar, and a dollar, she started with $1.90, which is to say 190 cents.

If she takes away one of the coins she either has 185, 180, 165, 140, or 90 cents remaining. Only one of those numbers is evenly divisible by 7.
