please help me i have to write a short paragrah explaining why do people hold on to conspiracy theories, even when there is evidence that might prove them wrong?

Answer:The researchers found that reasons for believing in conspiracy theories can be grouped into three categories:

The desire for understanding and certainty,The desire for control and security,The desire to maintain a positive self-image.Even tho they may be wrong you have to give them more info if they are having a hard time to agree.
