Nutrients molecules move in and out of cells in order to keep the organism alive. There are three processes are involved to this movement ,diffusion ,Osmosis and active transport. Larger Organisms increases their surface area to facilitate transport system and make a distances to a minimum for diffusion. On other hand organisms living in severe environmental conditions their surface area used to be reduced.
